The Ministry of Health has informed the public that the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) is still active and in use. This they said is still applicable even as the government works on the modalities to roll out the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF). Public Health PS Mary Muthoni called for patience among Kenyans as the government works on the new health plan. In early March, President Ruto said Kenyans already enrolled in NHIF will register afresh to access benefits under the new universal healthcare programme. The ministry will announce how you shall register afresh,'' President Ruto said.
