Mithun Chakraborty as Rahmat. — Collected photoIndian actor Mithun Chakraborty will play the role of Rahmat from Rabindranath Tagore’s short story ‘Kabuliwala’ in a silver screen adaptation, which will be directed by Suman Ghosh, reports Indianexpress.com. The actor’s first look as Rahmat­­­–seen in the traditional attire worn by men in Afghanistan–was released on August 1. In Kabuliwala, Rahmat, a Pashtun from Kabul, Afghanistan, visits Kolkata, India every year to sell dry fruits. He develops a filial affection for a five-year-old girl named Mini in Kolkata as she reminds him of his beloved daughter back home in Afghanistan.
