SEPANG: Mitchell Cheah showed the immense talent that he possesses after securing a front row start on his debut in the TCR Asia series at the season opening round in Sepang yesterday. With a new set of tyres on his Volkwagen Golf GTI, Mitchell proceeded to clock a blistering 2:15.897s to secure second on the grid for today’s race. Despite his front row grid position, Mitchell said he was hoping for more. Mitchell added that he has yet to fully recover from his appendix surgery but said it has not affected his performance so far. Mitchell, who is financially supported by Sepang International Circuit, won the touring production class of MCS last year in a Honda Civic FD2.
