RED DEER, ALTA.—Mitch Marner had two goals and three assists as the London Knights beat the host Red Deer Rebels 6-2 on Friday to open the 2016 Memorial Cup. London went 2-for-4 on the power play while Red Deer scored once on three chances with the man advantage. Mete made it 5-0 at 16:59 and Marner added another at 18:45. Red Deer led 8-2 in shots midway through the first, but the Knights took control and were ahead 28-17 after 40 minutes.
