The use or misuse of public toilets reserved for handicapped is a punishable offence. This lesson was what Sulabh Shauchalaya contractors at Thane railway station learnt last week after a handicapped passenger Ajit Singh Rawat lodged a police case. On January 20, Rawat, 39, a resident of Ambernath who runs private coaching classes in Navi Mumbai was, went to the Sulabh Shauchalay near platform no. 10 of Thane railway station. “The toilet meant for the disabled was occupied and the person at the counter told me that two women are bathing inside,” said Rawat.
