Thousands of Pokemon GO fans in Auckland were facing a day of disappointment after the organiser of an event said the council canned their event. But Auckland Council said there had been a misunderstanding and there was no permit required for Pokemon fans to wander around the domain while playing on their phones. ​But an Auckland Council spokeswoman said on Saturday that was never required and that the organiser was told they only had to consider health and safety issues.
