Missing woman triggers search and rescue operationRobert Charles/Fairfax NZ The Taranaki Rescue Helicopter was called in to help with the search. A missing person sparked a late night police search and rescue operation in Taranaki on Friday. About 10pm a woman was reported missing from the Omata area and a search for her commenced shortly after. The woman, in her 40s, was located about four hours later on a nearby farm, a police spokeswoman said. The Taranaki Rescue Helicopter was called in to help with the search and was able to locate the woman with the use of night vision goggles.
