The flight path of the missing Diamond DA aircraft had its last recorded location 24km south-east of Turangi. A small plane missing in the central North Island near Turangi has been found. The last known location of the plane was near the Kaimanawa Ranges, 24km south east of Turangi. Airways notified the Rescue Co-ordination Centre at 10.30pm on Saturday that a plane had not arrived in Taupō. A search and rescue helicopter was sent from Taupō to the last known location on Saturday, but cloudy and drizzly weather conditions prevented the search.
