Missing kayaker found safe in the Bay of PlentyGRANT MATTHEW/STUFF Police were notified of the missing kayaker on Saturday evening. A teenager who was reported missing after kayaking down a Bay of Plenty river has been found. The 17-year-old was found on the bank of the Kaituna River, downstream from Okere Falls in Rotorua, on Sunday morning. Land and water-based Search and Rescue teams had been searching for the teen since Saturday evening. The control gates at Okere Falls were closed on Saturday night and the river levels were low on Sunday.
