Police are trying to piece together the final hours of two young brothers whose bodies were found side by side in a Townsville river. The boys' family reported them missing about 6.30pm, after they failed to return home, sparking an amber alert and a huge search involving police, SES volunteers and residents. Police say witnesses have reported seeing the boys jump into the river. Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Miles said investigators were trying to piece together the boys' movements and how they came to be at the river. Obviously we have young boys who are very familiar with their surroundings, and like other children, play in the community," he told reporters.
