Missing Bangladeshi fishermen return home after Indian Coast Guard rescue

The Indian High Commission in Dhaka said on Wednesday that the fishermen finally returned to the safety and reunited with their families on Tuesday. The Coast Guard rescued and recovered the boat named Thamanna when they found it close to its station at Paradeep, Orissa. “The boat was repaired and crews were taken care by the Indian Coast Guard,” the High Commission said. “After the repair work was completed, the boat along with 16 crew members was escorted to international maritime border line and handed over Bangladesh Navy on Nov 14. “The Coast Guards and Navies from India and Bangladesh are cooperating extensively to support search and rescue operations and help the fishermen in distress by providing them all possible assistance when in need,” read the statement.
