Community members gathered for a prayer vigil at a local church Thursday, a day after a mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., left 17 people dead. PARKLAND, Fla.—Authorities in Florida have charged the teen arrested for the mass shooting at a high school Wednesday with premeditated murder for each of the 17 people killed, and acknowledged that there might have been a lost chance to intervene. Judge Kim Mollica informed Mr. Cruz that he faced 17 counts of premeditated murder and ordered him held without bond. Mr. Weekes said Mr. Cruz is on suicide watch. Most of the victims were killed inside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, the sheriff said, and all their families have been notified.
