OAKLAND—Klay Thompson became an NBA phenomenon as a Splash Brother, the other member of the prodigious Golden State Warriors backcourt that turned the league on its ear with delightful, consistent and deadly long-distance shooting. “We want him to keep shooting, and we know he will, but his defence the entire playoffs has been spectacular,” said Thompson’s teammate, Draymond Green. Thompson is capable of going off at any time — and everyone around the series knows it — but it’s not as vital to Golden State’s success as it once was. “We’re not just going to say: Oh man, we really need to get Klay going.”So Thompson’s found other ways to make, um, a splash. “They’ve been killing people the last three years with the three-ball,” Thompson said of the Cavs.
