According to family members, the couple has a cow farm in front of their home at Gopinathpur Hatubhanga village where they sleep every night in order to guard the cows. At around 2:30am on Sunday, some miscreants threw acid on them while they were sleeping. The critically injured couple was first taken to the Jamalpur Sadar Hospital. Later, the hospital authorities referred them to Dhaka for advanced treatment at around 4pm on Sunday. Once a case is filed, we will investigate the matter thoroughly, the police official added.
