An Awami League leader has been critically injured in an attack by unidentified miscreants in Karbala area of Jessore district. Abu Moossa Modhu, 49, is the cultural affairs secretary of Jessore Awami League and also the office manager of Jessore 3 MP Kazi Nabil Ahmed. Jessore Sadar Awami League Secretary Mehedi Hassan Mintu said: “Modhu was standing in front of his house when seven to eight miscreants attacked him around 7am on Wednesday. “They beat him with sticks and punched him in the face.”Later, he was taken to Jessore General Hospital for treatment. Hospital doctor Abdur Rahim Morol said: “He is out of danger.”He was taken to Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon for better treatment.
