MIRI: Police have uncovered a German-made Walther pistol and live bullets hidden inside a drain in a housing estate here. Miri police chief Asst Comm Lim Meng Seah said on Monday (May 20) that the pistol was used for an armed robbery and shooting that happened four days ago. On May 16, a policeman and a robbery suspect were injured during a shoot-out between the armed robbers with police. The 1pm incident happened at a double-storey house in Taman Jelita, some 15km from the city centre. Police stumbled upon the armed robbers who were in the process of robbing a family inside the house.
