A group of Jubo League men, while identifying themselves as policemen, have allegedly picked up a 15-year-old girl from a home and raped her in Chatkhil upazila, Noakhali. The disturbing incident reportedly took place on February 7 night at Romapur village under Hatpukuria union of the upazila. The victim’s mother told the Dhaka Tribune that the girl had gone to visit her uncle’s house at Romapur on February 7. “That night, six people, including Noakhala union Jubo League unit President Mojibur Rahman Sharif, Kamal and Jamal, came to my brother’s house. The girl’s father said they have also been threatened and told to remain silent about the rape.
