These are not the Twins of Harmon Killebrew, the Twins of Tony Oliva, or the Twins of Kent Hrbek and Kirby Puckett. They entered Memorial Day weekend with a record of 33-16, eight games better than the fast-fading Indians in the AL Central. They’re on pace for 324 home runs, 58 more than the record 266 delivered by the New York Yankees just last year. In fact, Minnesota had never managed more than 79 in the first 49 games, which they did in 1986. It was the second time this season Minnesota hit eight home runs in a 16-7 win.
