Economy Agriculture ministry picks new NCPB boss, suspends regional managersTrucks queue to deliver maize to the National Cereals and Produce Board, Eldoret depot. FILE PHOTO | NMGThe Agriculture ministry has picked Albin Sang as the acting chief executive of the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) following Newton Terer's resignation on Sunday. The ministry had been expected to announce changes at the board following Mr Terer's controversial exit. There have been complaints that traders benefitted in selling maize that they had procured in Uganda at a cheap price and selling it expensively to NCPB at the expense of farmers. NCPB, which has been paying Sh3,200 per 90 kilogramme bag, stopped buying maize from growers two months back citing their stores are full, locking out farmers’ grain.
