Minister of arts, culture and heritage Carmel Sepuloni says the cultural activator programme will unlock potential in communities that struggle to access cultural activities. The Ministry for Culture and Heritage is looking for cultural organisations in Invercargill to host a new cultural activator. Invercargill has been chosen as one of eight locations where the ministry will pilot its cultural activators programmes under the Creative Arts Recovery and Employment Fund. The other locations chosen for the pilot are Te Tai Tokerau ki te Raki, Māngere-Ōtāhuhu, Kawerau, Gisborne, Wairoa, South Waikato, and Buller. Minister of arts, culture and heritage Carmel Sepuloni said the pilot underlined the government’s commitment to helping the arts and cultural sector adapt, survive and thrive.
