Through the SRO, issued on February 19, 2019, the Ministry of Commerce had directed all fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) importers to follow new regulations, which sparked concern in the $2-billion import industry. Earlier, the SRO was implemented from its date of issuance, however, after a few days, the importers were allowed to clear all their consignments booked before February 19, 2019.
