The government is all set to construct new luxurious flats for ministers, with an estimated cost of Tk47.75cr in Bailey Road area of Dhaka, to resolve the policymakers’ housing crisis in the city. Housing Minister Mosharraf Hossain on Wednesday inaugurated the construction work of the flats. While inaugurating the construction work, Mosharraf Hossain said number of residences for cabinet members and government officials in the city was low. There are around 70 houses and flats in the Minto Road, Hare Road and Bailey Road area, known collectively as ministers’ residential area. Apart from ministers, state ministers and deputy ministers, advisors to the prime minister and opposition leaders, top bureaucrats and police personnel also live in the area.
