The government has updated its advice to the Irish people to leave Ukraine in fear of a potential aggression by Russia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs updated its travel advice on Saturday, stating that people should not travel to Ukraine and Irish citizens there should leave immediately. Foreign Minister Simon Coveney said he spoke with Ukrainian Irish Ambassador Therese Healy last night on Sunday morning. He states: “She leads a small but effective team and continues her important job of helping Irish citizens.”Mr. Coveny reiterated the advice that Irish people should leave Ukraine. Justice Minister Helen McEntee also urged Ukrainian Irish people to “leave immediately,” following the advice of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
