The decision to take the Australian census predominantly online for the first time may have ended in disaster, but Cabinet minister Christopher Pyne is happily holding onto his paper form. Australians have until September 23 to fill out the online form and until September 18 to return their paper versions. The census website was back up and running on Thursday, more than 40 hours after it was taken down. "The information is still vitally important and everyone needs to get their census in.'' An angry Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has ordered a review into what went wrong and how so-called denial-of-service attacks were able to frustrate the system.
