The Tripoli based Libyan Minister of Marine Wealth, Adel Sultan, participated in the first session of the Blue Africa Summit held in the city of Tangier in Morocco from 16 to 18 November. The event, as its title suggests, was on protecting the marine environment and the blue economy and developing strategic plans for sustainable development. In his opening speech on the first day of the conference, Minister Sultan stressed the importance of the blue economy in all aspects of the economy. He also pointed out the importance of cooperation between the continents of Africa and Europe in the field of the blue economy and combating pollution of the seas and oceans. The opening was followed by technical discussions and an open dialogue on the blue economy, blue finance, ocean pollution, European-African rapprochement, and climate.
