Minister: I won’t speculate on Syrian war’s effect on fuel prices - Nation

KUALA LUMPUR: The Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry would rather not speculate on the effect of the war in Syria on fuel prices. Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin said it is natural for oil prices to shoot up if there is demand. "It is true that there has been talk of prices going up soon but I’d rather not speculate on this. On a separate issue, Hamzah said petrol dealers must inform the ministry if they intend to promote fuel by reducing their prices to attract more customers. He also advised members of the public to wait for the prime time news on RTM1 at 8pm every Wednesday to find out the latest fuel prices.
