Minister for Forests and Animal Husbandry K. Raju has said that the State is nearing self-sufficiency in milk production. He said the State would have achieved self-sufficiency in milk production had it not been for the floods that devastated Kerala last year. Mr. Raju called for concerted work by the wings of livestock development, dairy development, animal husbandry and Milma. Mr. Raju said that major changes had been effected in the State's new livestock breeding policy. Sunil Kumar and Dairy Development Department director S. Sreekumar were present.
