The device is a boon for uniformly sown rows of crops such as paddy, wheat, pulses, etc, in an economy largely based on agriculature. The agricultural technology was spotted at the recently held 7th International Agricultural Technology Festival which ended on Friday at Bangabandhu International Confernece Centre in Dhaka. AKM Roisul Islam Khan, chief of ACI Product development Unit, said: “This Mini Harvester can be available for farmers if the government subsidises.”After a 30% subsidy, the agricultural tool would cost around Tk5,10,000, said the official. According to International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), the rate of agricultural labour migration was 18% in 1988 while the migration rate in 2014 stands at more than 50%. In addition to Mini Harvester, different types of farm machinery including irrigation pump, solar-based irrigation system and bio-gas generator, have been displayed at the fare, which will end today.
