In the first phase, all higher education institutions - from class IX to XII and above - resumed classes from Tuesday, the education ministry announced. Masks are mandatory for all students and teachers, according to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the government. Pakistan had closed schools in March when the government enforced a nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus. On Tuesday, Pakistan reported six new deaths from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, one of the lowest number tolls in more than five months.
