Each year, on April 22, we celebrate Earth Day. It began with the so-called “… birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970,” according to the Earth Day Network. At the inception of Earth Day, it was a time when consciousness was being raised around the importance of our global environment and what humans are doing to destroy it. The Earth Day Network depicts an era when “… Americans were slurping leaded gas through massive V8 sedans. This includes what is called the “Triple bottom line,” which has three parts: social, environmental (ecological), and financial.
