Millennial Job Search Platform WayUp Raises $18.5 Million Series B

c/o WayUpWayUp, a job marketplace for recent college graduates, has closed an $18.5 million dollar Series B round -- one of the biggest for a woman-led company so far this year. The New York-based startup, run by CEO and cofounder Liz Wessel, has raised $27.5 million to date to grow its offering. The company started out matching college students with internships and jobs; now, about 15% of its user base has been out of school for a few years and is using WayUp to find a second or third role. Companies who initially hired WayUp for on-campus recruitment have started using its services to fill more senior vacancies. Trinity Ventures led the Series B, with participation from existing investors General Catalyst, BoxGroup, Lerer-Hippeau Ventures, Index Ventures, SV Angel, Female Founders Fund, Axel Springer, CAA Ventures, and OurCrowd.
