Share TweetBy Martin SadongdongThe Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will provide a free live screening in its military bases of the highly-anticipated boxing match between fighting Senator Manny Pacquiao and undefeated American fighter Keith Thurman in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday (Manila time). In a statement, General Benjamin Madrigal, AFP Chief-of-Staff, said the screening will allow soldiers and their dependents “to show their support for the eight-division champion,” who is also a Philippine Army (PA) reservist. Pacquiao (61-7-2, 39 KO) challenges Thurman (29-0-1, 22 KO) for the World Boxing Association (WBA) World Welterweight Championship at the MGM Grand Arena. The Filipino boxing legend entered the Army Reserve Command (ARESCOM) in April 2006 and was given the rank Sergeant.
