Military police investigate 288 reports of sexual misconduct in last year with 64 charges laid so far

Military police have received 288 reports of sexual misconduct over the last year and laid 64 charges so far, according to new statistics released Friday by the Canadian Forces. During that same period there were 27 guilty verdicts as a result of court martials or summary trials related to cases of sexual misconduct, the military reported. In addition, during that one-year period there were 504 incidents of sexual misconduct reported to military units. There were 47 reports of sexual assault, 74 of sexual harassment, and 66 sexual misconduct where the incident was not further explained.
