Military exercise ‘Shantidoot’ returns to Bangladesh


Bangladesh previously hosted the exercise in 2002, 2008 and 2012. The goals and objectives of Shantidoot-4 are to increase participants’ “interoperability and peacekeeping skills” prior to deployment in UN missions. The exercise will cover three broad aspects - Field Training Event (FTE), Staff Training Event (STE) and ‘Critical Enabler Capability Enhancement (2CE)’. Staff Training Event will be conducted to train the officers on staff skills required by military officers to operate in different Headquarters of peacekeeping missions. The training will be facilitated by instructors with extensive peacekeeping training experience.
