The deceased has been identified as Faija Tahsina Shuchi, the only daughter of senior journalist Faijul Islam of The Daily Ittefaq. The incident took place at the Diabari area of Uttara, when a microbus ran her over in the early morning. Confirming the incident to the Dhaka Tribune, Turag police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Nur Jahan said: "We have seized the microbus. According to local sources, injured Shuchi was taken to Bangladesh Medical Hospital were the on-duty doctors declared her dead.
