Arsenal have held talks with Mikel Arteta about him becoming their next permanent manager but will have to pay Manchester City compensation if they want to take him away from the Etihad. According to The Athletic, City would be looking for a seven-figure compensation deal before allowing Arteta to make the switch from Manchester to London. The 37-year-old is currently assistant coach to Pep Guardiola, although the report claims he has not let talks with the Gunners interfere with his duties at City. Arsenal had considered Arteta as an option to replace Arsene Wenger before deciding to offer the position to Unai Emery.
