Former midfielder Arteta has sealed a return to the Emirates on a three-and-a-half year deal, succeeding Unai Emery as their next permanent boss. After being confirmed as boss, Arteta outlined their "need" to compete for the biggest trophies in the game and revealed that ambition was clearly conveyed by owners Stan and Josh Kroenke. “We all know there is a lot of work to be done to achieve that but I am confident we’ll do it. "Mikel understands Arsenal Football Club and what it means to our fans around the world. Freddie and Per are important parts of the Arsenal family and care deeply for this club.”
