Senator Mike Sonko has no right to turn Uhuru Park into a matatu terminus in any case, whether he becomes the governor or President. Let Sonko think of any other thing but he has to forget Uhuru Park. But the late Nobel Prize Laurette Wangari Mathai fought tooth and nail to ensure Uhuru Park remained the country's national heritage. Former President Daniel Moi tried to put the park to another use without success. The park plays host to recreational facilities besides being a landmark of the city.
