Ron DeSantis sent to Martha's Vineyard were homeless and given "multiple opportunities" to voluntarily take the trip or stay behind, senior officials in the DeSantis administration told reporters on a background call Monday afternoon. The DeSantis administration said the migrants were informed of their destination and that they were given "multiple" opportunities to decline the trip. "These were homeless people that were in a rough situation and undoubtedly had their circumstance improved," the officials said. Multiple Democrats including the White House have accused DeSantis’ transportation of migrants out of state as being illegal.
