Like Hereditary, Midsommar is a dark horror (though shot in bright sunlight), full of disturbing images that will follow you home and possibly inhabit your nightmares. There just happens to be a horror story playing out at the same time, under the midnight sun. It may not be the last word in horror, but it’s the latest and greatest.
