Firefighters rush to save a home that was engulfed in flames in Rangitīkei overnight. Moments after the alert level 4 lockdown began a fire tore through a home, leaving four without shelter in Rangitīkei. The fire, which started in the lounge, engulfed the 30-metre by 6m structure as firefighters arrived on the scene, Fire and Emergency spokeswoman Belinda Beets said. The four people were out of the house, but one person was taken to hospital with injuries, she said. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and remained at the scene looking for hotspots until about 4am, Beets said.
