The four-year-old pup was discovered by a member of the public next to a burnt-out vehicle in the freezing cold on Friday, February 13 in Mayfield. ‌The pedestrian walked past the Belgian Malinois cross, named Demon, that afternoon and returned to check later the same day and the dog was still there so they called the Scottish SPCA Animal Helpline. The Scottish SPCA is appealing for any information. Demon was also very underweight so was taken to the vet before being transported to the Scottish SPCA Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Balerno, Edinburgh.
