Last Friday, President Trump issued an executive order to temporarily suspend immigration from seven countries that precipitate radical Islamic terrorism -- Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Libya, and Yemen. Immigration and civil liberty advocates demand its repeal, while those who advocate stricter border controls unequivocally support the measure. Yesterday, Microsoft detailed this point in a letter sent to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly. Allowing these foreigners to come on US soil is not only the right thing to do, it’s also smart from a national security standpoint. They are filling critical jobs that tech companies like Microsoft depend on to adequately protect our cyber security.
