Launched by Concern Worldwide, the new award was created to recognise those who are leaders in driving gender equality. Concern Worldwide CEO Dominic MacSorley said the Dublin woman was "immediately the person who came to mind". Cathriona, who joined Microsoft in 1986, took over the position as MD for the company's Dublin-based EMEA Operations Centre before being appointed MD of Microsoft Ireland in 2013.
