Michigan State is the overwhelming favorite in the Associated Press Top 25 preseason men’s basketball poll, released Monday. 1 in the AP preseason rankings for the first time. Michigan State is coming off a 32-7 season in which it reached its eighth Final Four under coach Tom Izzo before losing to Texas Tech. 11, followed by Seton Hall, Texas Tech, Memphis, Oregon, Baylor, Utah State, Ohio State, Xavier and Saint Mary’s. Michigan State will play Kentucky, while Kansas takes on Duke at the Champions Classic.
