A Washington Post-Ipsos poll of more than 1,200 Black Americans this spring finds some things never change. Although others may share concerns about rising prices, long-term data show Black households may have more difficulty weathering such cost pressures. A Pew Research Center poll of Black Americans conducted last fall found that just over a third of Black adults have an emergency fund, compared with over half of adults overall. The poll finds that 25% of Black Americans rate the economy as excellent or good, down from 42% in early 2020. Results among Black Americans and Americans overall have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
