Michael Smith will be looking to win his first ever World Championship title on Monday as he takes on former winner Peter 'Snakebite' Wright at the Alexandra Palace. His opponent won his first world title in 2020 after beating Michael Van Gerwen 7-3 in the final, who was the reigning champion at the time. And it was Smith that was beaten by Van Gerwen the year before, and the world no.9 will be hoping for a much better experience this time around. Not only did Smith fall at the final hurdle in 2019, he also came away with a nasty injury as he broke his hand punching a wall in frustration.
