The NHS in Scotland missed an "astonishing" 72 crucial targets while Michael Matheson was health secretary, it has emerged. Mr Matheson, who resigned his ministerial role in disgrace last week over his £11,000 iPad bill scandal, took over the position at the end of March last year. Ms White said: "This damning analysis fully exposes that Michael Matheson was never up to the job of running Scotland’s NHS. "From A&E waiting times, to cancer treatment times and targets for vulnerable young people to access mental health services, Michael Matheson missed them all. We remain absolutely committed to reducing waits for hospital care, including cancer, planned and emergency care.
