Serta stopped making Trump mattresses and PVH nixed its Trump clothing line, which Macy’s pulled from its shelves. Since Trump launched his campaign, partners in Toronto, Panama and New York have all stripped the president’s name from buildings. To make matters worse, before taking office Trump pledged not to do any new foreign deals during his term, significantly hampering his hotel licensing business’ growth prospects. The president, who has always insisted that he ran for office to help the American people and not boost his own bottom line, acknowledged the slump last year.
