Miami Airport provides moms with 8 nursing stations

Miami International Airport has inaugurated a service of eight stations for nursing moms to feed their infants, which makes it the U.S. airport with the largest number of these units, its executives told EFE. The eight units put into service this week, and which are distributed among the six air terminals, will give nursing mothers peace and privacy while feeding their newborns, Emilio Gonzalez, director of Miami International Airport (MIA), told EFE. Gonzalez said the nursing stations reflect the airport's mission to provide the greatest number of services for travelers, who nowadays expect more choices in the world's leading international airports. "We have a balanced mix of passengers traveling for business and pleasure, which is why we develop services like the nursing stations for working mothers and for those on vacation," Gonzalez said. Miami International Airport offers more flights to Latin America and the Caribbean than any other U.S. airport, and in 2015 received a total of 44.3 million passengers, of whom 40 percent were travelers making a stopover.
